Thank you for using DotMatrix Studio (the "App"). Your privacy matters. This policy explains what the App does and does not do with your information. In short: DotMatrix Studio does not collect, store, or share any personal data.
The short version
- We do not collect personal information.
- We do not require an account or sign-in.
- We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking of any kind.
- We do not send your photos or any other data to us or to any third party.
- The App has no internet permission at all and works entirely offline.
Your photos
Photos are the heart of the App, so here is exactly what happens to them.
- When you tap IMPORT, your device shows you its own photo picker. Only the single photo you choose is handed to the App.
- That photo is processed entirely on your device — the dithering engine runs locally, in the App's own memory.
- Your photo is never uploaded, backed up to us, or shared with anyone. There is no server to send it to.
- A photo is written to your photo library only when you choose Save to Photos or Save as Wallpaper.
Camera
The App can use your device's camera for the live 1-bit viewfinder.
- The camera is only active while you are on the camera screen.
- Camera frames are dithered in real time on your device to draw the viewfinder, and are discarded immediately afterwards.
- No photo is saved unless you press the shutter, and even then it is only kept on your device.
- You can use the whole App without the camera by importing photos instead.
